Volunteers are a significant part of the Better Living team, delivering essential services such as Meals on Wheels, Hospice Care and Companionship Visiting, Adult Day Program Support, Recreational Program Assistants, food preparation and customer service in the Better Bistro, and front desk reception and administrative support. Every role compliments the others and enables seniors to live actively, independently and with dignity. YOU could be the difference.
Our monthly newsletter has detailed information about online and professional training for volunteers, Better Living updates, interactive bingo for our Facebook friends, and more.
Sincere thanks to Hester Riches for her incredible patience and dedication to making this happen, to Moses Velasquez our amazing graphic and web designer, and to our Senior Management team for their support and contributions.
This is a work in progress, and we would love your help for future editions. Please feel free to contribute articles, ideas, photographs, opportunities and especially stories or testimonials. The goal is to connect volunteers not only to information, but also to each other and to the whole scope of Better Living. We welcome your ideas and your feedback.
If you know a current MOW/MOWAM volunteer who has made outstanding contributions to voluntarism within the Meals on Wheels service, nominate them for our annual Meals on Wheels Volunteer Recognition Award in memory of Noshir Kanga.
