With support from the Governments of Canada and Ontario, Better Living at Thompson House performed HVAC system renovations that have improved the indoor air quality for staff, residents and visitors. These renovations included:
- Enhanced air conditioning to all parts of the home, including areas that are cooled by window air conditioners
- Enhanced operation of the HVAC system to improve air quality and system efficiency
The scope of the project included:
- Partial replacement of the electric heaters
- Overhaul of the central AHU
- Major overhaul of the chiller
- Adding two new roof top HVAC units to increase cooling capacity
- Replacing the existing 14-window type air conditioning units and integrating them into central HVAC units
We were exciting to be able to undertake these changes, as it has shown to improve our residents’ comfort at Better Living at Thompson House.
